Storage is why LIGHT exists. The public pitch from the announcement is around 1 GB on Android and under 2 GB on iOS for the first package. That is small next to a fully updated PUBG MOBILE install.
What “around 1 GB” does and does not include
Publishers usually quote the first store package, not every later map. LIGHT is explicit that extra maps and modes are optional after Erangel. Still leave headroom — a couple of gigabytes free is saner than 1.01 GB free.
When the live Play listing shows a different size, trust Play. We will match that number here when it is stable.
Data use
A 1 GB download on mobile data is still a 1 GB download. Use Wi-Fi for the first install if you can. Extra maps you tap later will use more.
